I always thought an opportunity was missed with Al Capp’s Fearless Fosdick. As an extreme parody of Dick Tracy, Fosdick had horrible aim and was often shot so full of holes he looked like Swiss cheese — but with no blood.
Of course, the whole “still standing even after he’s dead” gag is covered by “Walker*,” so maybe there was no way to give Fosdick a moment to shine.
