As someone who experienced csa from a family member i resonate with clarissa very strongly. Is it fucked up to find comfort in something so akin to a traumatic experience? Who can say. Stay strong, Clarissa. You wont be able to forget when you grow up either
I stumbled upon this comic from a post where someone compared Floopsy to Toy Story toys. Naturally I binge-read all of it in one night. I think I am a mix of the three children in Clarissa’s household unfortunately. Good think I suppressed the memories, which famously never ever resurface later in life 😀
Jajaja, I love the part when Clarissa looks back at Roger and touches her face, embarrassed, like she’s thinking, “What did this idiot do now?”
I really loved this episode, especially because of Roger’s development, his genuine interest in Clarissa, and the way she interacts with him.
JY: Thanks! (I think I need some Roger coffee mugs in my store!)
Reminding me a little of LISA but hopefully thier lives get better in tne future. Amazing comics as always through the years.
JY: Lisa… Simpson? Oh no! Homer, what have you DONE??
Or possibly ‘Lisa’ the unbelievably fucked-up Chick tract that also touches on themes of innocent little girls being rattled by their dads. Spoiler alert: Dad finds Jesus and everything turns out peachy
JY: Well… shit! I think you just gave me the ending for Clarissa!
I just found this comic series today thanks to an artist on tumblr that recommended it and got to read it in a single day. I just wanna say thank you for creating such a good representation of SA in such a processable way.. the dark humor really mixes wonderfully with the bitterness and raw feelings occurring on the comic, I really hope little Rodger doesn’t give up on her and Clarissa gets to see a friend in him :3
I’d like to stay updated on the comic! I just need to figure out how lol
Keep up the good work JY!! Greetings from Mexico!
JY: I’m glad you enjoyed* the comic. Buenos Tacos!
Sup JY. Just a heads up from a past comment from Ynnep-Chan relating to LISA. It’s not the Simpson one its instead an RPG series thats set on a post apocaliptic world and revolves around a man and his daughter who is the last woman in the world.
They are three games (the first, the painful, the joyful), LISA: the first it’s probably the closest to the overall plot of Clarisa, plays like earthbound and follows Lisa Armstrong who is trying to escape the abuse her father subjected her to. Its free on steam but quite janky. LISA: the painful follows Brad Armstrong who is Lisa’s brother and processes his trauma while looking for his adoptive daughter after the world goes through full on mad-maxfication, zero women left and manages to protect her until one day he comes home and she’s been kidnaped, its really cheap on steam and usually comes bundled with the joyful since it is a dlc for this one. LISA: the joyful follows buddy (Brad’s adoptive daughter) as a teen who has to disguise herself to trick men and survive in her messed up world.
I just subscribed to get Clarissa updates and, well, I thought commenting was in order too. I have never seen another work of fiction tackle CSA like this, so boldly but tactfully at the same time. I am rooting for Clarissa and I thank you for creating her (I can’t bear the thought of her not getting a good ending and just “suffering eternally”). No pressure though! I know you need your time to finish it! Take that time and continue making this comic as good as it is! 🙂
JY: NOOOO! Please give me permission to stop!
well, he tried and that’s what counts
poor little clarissa… i hope they let her beat her dad over the head with a chair soon
