We had an “Everything for a Dollar” store, but it eventually was renamed as “Everything for a Dollar or More” because of inflation. Two days after the new Walmart in that plaza went from functional to fully operational, it went under. We’ve taken to jokingly referring to it as the Deathstar, and speculating about what it will destroy next (it is the first Walmart on city soil, although there are two that were built just across the city lines, which is probably why they didn’t bother fighting this one… there’s not a lot of point anymore).
