. . .
(Captcha wants me to “defile toozatio”, but then where would I get homestyle Italian food?)
YEA! Action! A mere punch to the kidneys won’t keep Brown down!
“This is a clash of the titans, folks.”
Oh, well said, Holms from two pages ago!
That grimace alongside the punch in the penultimate panel is positively pernicious!
Sis Boombah? I don’t see no chicken.
Kidneys hell – that sounded like a floating rib breaking.
Cal still seems to be one-handed…will it heal?
Every page makes me hungry for more, and Captcha knows it: almstag food.
I do believe Cal is getting serious.
Chuck is badass. Doesn’t even think to dogde the bullet airplanes. Cal is very quick as well. They guys are going to rumble.
Ths is like those scenes in movies when the music just stops and all you hear is the (enhanced) sounds of the melee…the grunts and slaps and footfalls and whacks and shit. This shit is awesome.
I wonder if someone will pick up the gun… the question is who? Headless? Anne? Hughie? Cal again? Chuck? Snoop? Hmmm…
Cal knows he’s in a fight now. What he doesn’t know is that Chuck’s got backup. Shall we just assume Chuck can hold on long enough for Anne to slice Cal from stem to stern while X hits him with the plasma, Walker picks up the zorcher and perforates him, and Snoop eats his balls?
THOSE EYE, THAT RAGE in the first panel.
JY, you are a master of characters displaying raw emotion (sort of along the lines of Kevin Maguire but without cheaply relying on “smirkfaces”)
I’ve gone ahead and ordered my third Megaton Pack. I’ve got to spread the word about how awesome this comic is.
Thing about Chuck, the more you hammer him, the more he likes it, the more it makes him fight harder, and the more he enjoys the crunch of bone and the spray of blood when the other guy starts to break.
It’s part RAGE and part “I’m going to hurt you and beat on you till you hurt as bad as I do, and your puny fists don’t hurt me as bad as I hurt inside. Now you get to die!”
The more Cal hits him, the harder he’ll hit back. The more damage he takes, the more damage he’ll do back.
For all of Cal’s power, he’s still a kid having a good time.
For Chuck, it’s the way things are.
BRING THE PAIN, BITCH!
This whole fight scene needs a soundtrack. I vote for “Ladies And Gentlemen” by Saliva.
Because. It. Is. FUCKING. ON!
Captcha thinks I’s a champion of profreading to much: “1st oweredit”.
Panel 1: Captain America has nothing on Chuck.
The rest of the strip: Everybody’s kung fu fighting, and those cats are fast as lightning. In fact, it’s a little bit frightening, but they fight with expert timing. (Good luck getting that song out of your heads, folks.)
— According to ReCaptcha, the dyslexic chemist need to go to the bathroom: rstpoo nucleic.
the classic showdown… Cal is faster, ‘modernized’, maybe even stronger. Weapon Brown has more experience…
Power vs Experience…
Cal *must* be pissed if he went ahead and punched Chuck with his broken hand too…
@Brandi – It’s his right hand that was broken. He’s only fighting left-handed.
Thank yo, Lord Jim. I thought I was going nuts and the little purple mushroom men were going to start marching out of my nostrils again.
(And that, Mr. Captcha, hasn’t happend to me since 1794- Sculdro. Ah, to be back on the glens of Sculdro again.)
It’s true…it’s not every day you can see LITERAL MURDER in a person’s eyes, but this may well be one of the first. Though the captcha thinks I’ve got your name wrong, as it’s told me to encourage moblick. Who the fuck is moblick?
@LordJim: You sure? I see motion blur on both arms in that final panel…
That’s Cal moving around back of Chuck to get in under the ribs. I’ll admit it does look a little weird with just the arms in motion and the rest of him not but OH GOD NO PLEASE MR. YOUNGBLUTH PUT THE TRANQ GUN DOWN I’LL BE GOOD!
yUngbluth. No O.
I’ll… just be over there in the corner rebuilding my 1913 rporCon with Captcha.
This is beautiful and awesome. So many t-shirt worthy moments!
@Narwhal – Thanks for the encouragement.
Ash Captcha entered the woods. While trudging through the high grass he *encountered Ibotic*. Quickly grabbing a Pokéball™, he hurled it at the oncoming threat. Within minutes, all that remained of the young trainer was one scorched sneaker.
Chuck needs to make some of those hit count. And correct me if I am wrong, but doesn’t the arms power unit increase Chucks “energy” levels. Seem to recall something of the sort from a previos page. (maybe during his confrontation with the Legion)
Chuck is in a perfect position to crunch Cal’s goolies. Just sayin’. But captcha thinks this could be solved with a heavily seasoned noodle dish: uypesta solution
