I am posting first, just because the Captcha is irresistible.
So.. Ahem: Captcha polygamist trial separation leads to: Divorce LizandEv

Frumpy! Amazing, man. That’s reaching for some obscure. And your captcha has me spooked. My ex is named Liz and my initials are EV.

Is this the first time you’ve revealed Pops only has one eye? Because it’s the first time I’ve noticed. Gruesome interpretation of his name, I guess

Aw, Hell… it’s on now…

So, lemme get this straight.
That was Olive Oyl just getting shot down, right?
Bring out the spinach-flavoured Shmoo.
… wait, would that even work for Pops? Or would he have a stash of pre-war spinach somewhere?
Captcha offers a prediction: heaven aliqui. Sounds ominous.

@skwidmonster, As I recall, the original Popeye only had one eye, too.

I bet’cha she didn’t see that coming.
Captcha has had enough of where he lives:

Olive or Annie? Time will tell…
July 22nd, 2011 at 8:49 am
I’m pretty sure that’s all he can stands…
July 22nd, 2011 at 9:35 am
Definitely Oyl. Go out like a man, Pops!

I loved Mother Goose and Grimm…And Grimm is stuffed how wicked (not that it means anything, just cool).
July 22nd, 2011 at 11:45 am
They didn’t get Olive. They got Pops. SHIT.
July 22nd, 2011 at 12:25 pm
No, they got Olive. Pops is about to go into a berserker rage. Hopefully he can do some actual damage. It really feels like he should be able to.
Also, Melfice: pops has had some spinach around. He smokes it in his pipe, remember?

Said it before, will say it again. I know this is Weapon Brown’s comic, I know Pops is probably marked for death just by being in this comic and not being Chuck. I’m just hoping Pops goes out in style, possibly making a decent showing against Cal.
Actually, that might be kind of cool, too… Pops actually giving Cal a difficult time and Cal taunting Chuck that he’s so disappointed that Pops put up a better fight than the famous Weapon Brown…
Guess I’ll just have to see how it turns out. Thanks for the awesome, JY; keep up the incredible work!
Sergeant Captcha made a wiping-away motion as he noted the fragment of foodstuff on his partner’s jacket. “Hey, Detective,” he said, sotto voce, “you’ve got some, uh … shayedop there.”

Looks like Olive Oyl just got greased!
July 22nd, 2011 at 4:23 pm
Aw man… we’re about to lose Pops arent we?
July 22nd, 2011 at 5:56 pm
I wonder if it’s not Olive at all, I don;t think he ever said her name. Maybe it’s a big setup as to who she is, although I don’t know who else she would be.
July 22nd, 2011 at 8:25 pm
All hail Brak!
July 23rd, 2011 at 2:24 am
@Patrick: How about Alice the Goon? She’d be big and strong enough for Pops.

Cal would want to snuff Pops himself. Killing is fun, you see…
July 23rd, 2011 at 9:21 pm
It’s definitely Olive. That’s the sleeve on her usual outfit.
July 23rd, 2011 at 11:23 pm
oh man, it’s on now. Fuck them up Pops. Fuck them up.
July 24th, 2011 at 10:40 am
Ahhh. Olive. I never thought of that. I was thinking it was Annie. Now my snarky comment is just plain stupid.
July 24th, 2011 at 11:13 am
I can’t be bothered to go searching the archives for a sleeve-match, but are we sure it’s not Blondie?

I’m a bit sad Judd Winick ditched the comic strip format, but I bet he’d be proud.
