So sad. But isn’t it kind of in keeping with Bloom County? Most of the action is in their heads. Granted, I haven’t really read Bloom County since the strip ended…
Really wondering how the WB/Calvin throw down will go. I think we’re all expecting Calvin to switch sides.

I also noticed the Banana Jr. computer there, and I’m wondering if Oliver Wendell Jones is using it to keep an eye on his buddies; if so, he’ll soon be sounding the alarm, and the battle/exodus will begin.
I also wonder if the Opus-bat will be decanted and revived so he can take part in the coming fight; someone with Opus’ staying power just might give CALv1N one heck of a struggle.

The bloodless decapitations here remind me of a story arc in “Bloom County,” where Binkley dreamed that he was Luke Skywalker; first he lopped off the head of Darth Dallas, then that of George Lucas.

Wow, that was a well telegraphed bummer. I’ve been waiting for Bloom County (my personal favorite strip. Ever.) to make an appearance, and this is it? Much like the comic, canceled before its time. I know Opus and Steve Dallas are probably still out there, but those two by themselves reeks of Outland, and Outland just sucked.

By and large, JY seems to tap the majority of strictly newspaper strips for characters, though I am sure he may also have nicked a few online-onlies along the line, but beyond that, other media like videogames, etc. is unlikely…

I just noticed a hidden bit of irony: Bink is smoking a cigarette, whereas the original Binkley went to great lengths to make his father quit smoking. Love those hidden little details.

I was very disappointed in the ease in which Milo and Binkley were killed. I would much rather have seen the C.A.L. grab their necks and therefore make it at least a bit of a cliffhanger. You knew they would die, just not that easy…(sigh)

Well, I guess we have run into the end of the surplus from the hiatus….back to the one update/no update for a week period again
