Awesome work as always! Looks like we finally get to see that Dilbert is alive in the future.
For how long remains to be seen.

Just throwing out a guess for next week’s strip:

    Dilbert’s mouth is stitched shut.

    You heard it here first.

Shall we begin unfurling the red carpet for Mr. C’s arrival?

    YAY, Dilbert 8D

…I wonder if he resorted to eating Ratbert

  5. Sherlock_Watson

I wonder if Dilbert’s “tie” is a weapon that can whip up and impale anyone who gets too close to him. I also wonder how Dogbert will be manifested; maybe he’s the secret evil ruler of the Syndicate, and “Horny” is just one of his stooges.

Ooh! Dilbert! I was wondering where he’d pop up! Obviously under Horns, but this is a nice turn of events! I’m excited (and a little horrified) to see what JY’s cooked up for him.

I’m gonna guess that Dilbert has no mouth at all and he speaks using some electronic device hooked directly into his neocortex.

How can you tell Dilbert’s mouth is sewn shut? His arms do seem shorter than everyone else’s though. Does that mean he and Wally have.. fused? (And will JY have Dogbert or Dilldog?)

And Duke’s gimp still has to be lead by the gag.

Considering the nature of the original Dilbert strip, I’ll be thrilled if he plays turncoat…

I’m sure Wally’s long since been chained to a wall and eviscerated in some forgotten corporate cellar.

It just keeps gettin’ better and better…

pakopako, I wasn’t saying I KNEW that Dilbert’s mouth is stitched shut. I’m no more privy to behind-the-scenes at Weapon Brown than you. (If I was, you can bet Jason would be paying me a pretty penny to keep me from blabbing.) :)

I’m just making a wild guess based on a trend: Weapon Brown shows us the gruesome details behind the odd little design quirks of certain characters. We’ve already seen why Beetle Bailey never takes off his hat (to protect his light-sensitive compound eyes), why Little Orphan Annie has no pupils in her eyes (she’s blind) and why Crock is so short (because Chuck broke his spine and he had to have his body rebuilt). We even learned why Alley Oop’s loincloth looks so fuzzy (THAT’S NO LOINCLOTH!!! ARRRRGGHHH!!) And Jason’s promised we’ll someday find the gruesome truth behind why Cathy has no nose.

Going by that trend, I wondered what to make of Dilbert, whose biggest design quirk (aside from that tie) is that he has no mouth, except rarely when he screams. Thus, I posit that either his mouth was stitched shut (to keep him from sassing his boss), or there is no mouth (like Neo in the Matrix), accentuating his status as a voiceless cog in the Syndicate’s machine. And under that logic, he’d only have a mouth when he screams, likely when Chuck tears out his heart or something, the agony tearing through his own flesh to open his mouth one last time before he dies. Or something.

But maybe I’m wrong. Maybe that’s not even Dilbert. Maybe that’s actually Beaker from the Muppets. In the wonderful world of Weapon Brown, you never know. :D

    Who’s on the elevator, eh?

Hmm… From left to right, I see Pruneface(you can tell because his face is shaded in) Mary Worth(I think… Can’t really tell) A second woman with a disturbing absence of legs and elongated lips, and a woman or man wearing a helmet, or with helmet-hair at the very least.

  14. punx

@freemadman: Pruneface, Mary Worth, King and Prince Valiant ;)

  15. squishy

@punx: Not Valiant, he’s one of the guys in the council with Annie etc. I think that’s just a guard.

  16. NaOH

It’s great to see that Duke has finally taken up Honey as his “assistant and love-slave”.
(She’s been referring to herself as such for so long, I was beginning to think it was all in her head.)

@squishy: you’re right, just went back in the archives and there are only those 3 since Duke’s with Horns….so a guard is probably correct :)
This is about to get real fucked up, I believe LOL since I’ll bet this “defunct R&D facility” is where CAL v.1n is being kept…..

    MONDAY!! NEW WB! GO CHUCK!

  19. Sherlock_Watson

I think that guard is Sir Rodney, and that he’s the same one who was carrying Mr. King on his back when Horns visited Id.

    – Captcha keeps it on the down low: Huddling who.

  20. pakopako

Ah, I thought you just remembered an earlier strip Jor. My memory, like my vision, tends to get fuzzy the longer it tries to go. (Dilbert could have a voicebox that only screams.)
