And we’re back to ID, after all this time. I wonder if either the Lone Haranguer or Robber Hood will make an appearance this time, or if they’ve already been caught and gutted.
Also, now that we’ve been shown the underground community, I’m looking forward to meeting more of the residents. Will Slylock Fox or Beakman be among them? They would certainly fit in with the rest of the “Sunday people.”

A six sigma pun. I normally hate puns. That is so brilliant I will make an exception. Bravo.

At first I thought that those were monkeys in cages, but it looks like they are elves.
Captcha is jumping on the corporate bandwagon. Kinky Auditors

Those look like elves, but they’re just the peasants from Id. Parker always drew them with pointed caps, and since he’d often need crowd scenes full of them, drawing the strip for decades and decades, the medieval look eventually got exaggerated away into full-on elf hats. The longer a comic strip goes (especially the cartoony ones), the more stuff gets simplified and caricatured, until it’s hard to remember exactly what they originally were supposed to be. Jason’s genius is that he takes the exaggerated stuff and draws it 100% straight and realistic, forming Weapon Brown’s unique art style.
In any event, they look really happy, despite their predicament. Between that and the roar, I assume somebody below is being eaten by Catbert.
Awww, look at how tenderly Chuck sniffs Anne’s hair. And based on her comment in panel 2, it’s awakening feelings within him he had once thought long dead.

I doubt there are other Weapon Browns, but he did say in an earlier strip that his arm “wasn’t that rare.”

I wonder how, if at all, Daddy Warbucks figures into this? After all, the guy was a staunch Republican and the original author of the strip was adamantly against \New Deal\ policies.
