Ugh… assless chaps… good lord, Dagwood, have some taste. Even post-apocalyptic conditions are no excuse.

what happened to his sandwidch?

Man, Jason, I appreciate your punctuality.
@lkjwhatever, the sandwich was Schmoo. That kind of food doesn’t actually exist in the future.

chaps are assless, that’s what makes them chaps.

Maybe Dagwood and Blondie don’t have a feeder thing happening after all. Looks like Dagwood’s … not wearing the pants (badumCHA!) in this relationship.
October 27th, 2009 at 4:06 am
I so did not need to see Dagwood’s bum and his butt acne.
Well, maybe they’re not feeders but Dagwood has a dark side
But I like Blondie, she needed more meat on her anyhow

I’m guessing ‘what happened to his sandwich’ was that it was made of Shmoo. Hearing Blondie probably made him imagine what she’d look like as a grease stain, so the Shmoo obliged. Which means there’s more of it than just what the late secretary had in her breasts.

If we’re going to be treated to crotch- and ass-shots, at least let them come from some of the female characters. Are the girls from “Apartment 3-G” going to appear here?
BTW, clever way to almost use these guys’ names; “Dogwood” and “Blonde” are just close enough that you can still stick your tongue out at the lawyers.

My eyes they BURN! They BURN!!! Pubes on Friday and ACne Butt on Monday!! Egads!! the humanity of it all……..
So Blonde is some sort of “Engineer” in this Strip and Dogwood is a kinky SM freak boy I take it.

Dogwood is Blond(i)e’s nickname for him – his actual moniker remains a mystery to us at this point.

Jim, Destruya : Thanks for explaining that. I’m not familiar with that schmoo comic, which seems central to the strip. Can anyone further explain how it works, the comic’s background, and anything else that might be of interest?
Destruya: there is more – what Ms. Buxley had was simply a sample. It’s been mentioned in other strips that there is more, and Chuck just had a sample.
John W: JY has done that with all the characters. Snoop (rather than Snoopy). Chuck instead of Charlie Brown. Beatle, Crokk (versus Crock), swampies (instead of camp swamp), etc. It adds to the awesomeness, as we have to figure out who the characters are from. Still never expected to see Fred Basset in Weapon Brown. JY is a comic genius (who still hasn’t shipped me the latest edition of blockhead’s war!!)

The shmoo is from “L’il Abner” by Al Capp…
October 27th, 2009 at 6:34 pm
A few more notes on the shmoo:
The shmoo is an animal that reproduces quickly, lays eggs (packaged) and gives milk (bottled). It loves to be eaten, and if you look at one hungrily it will kill itself in ecstasy. The shape-shifting powers Jason attributes to it here come not from Capp’s original strip, but from the “New Shmoo” cartoon show in the late ’70s/early ’80s (following Capp’s death).

Does Blondie keep a supply of shmoo in her breasts as well? Because it looks like she can hold enough to feed an army.
Wouldn’t mind taking my share of THOSE rations…! Yup!
October 27th, 2009 at 8:01 pm
And if you watch the movie Lucky Number Slevin, you get to hear Morgan Freeman talk about the Shmoo in a friendly threateningly gangster way.
So … Did … NOT … Need … To … See … That … Backside!

We all know that some of the “good guys” are likely to die before this story is through. I think we’re looking at Candidate #1.
October 28th, 2009 at 3:59 pm
He’s destined to die when he runs headlong into a BC mutant canibal dressed as a mailman.
